My investing goals are to be able to live off my dividends. Time horizon is 20+ years and I have a high risk tolerance. I am also looking at investing and for the most part leave the money in the stocks, ETFs, etc I invest in. I do not plan on chasing ex-dates etc. I also understand what is a buy today might not be tomorrow, next week or next month.
Sounds like your situation is fairly similar to mine! You should be considering dividend growth stocks that will be able to grow free cash flow and in turn grow their dividend income long term. This will be the more effective way to live off dividends long term.
Is there a recommendation for someone getting started with Dividends that you would recommend as a buy today?
That depends on many variables such as the following:
- What are your investing goals?
- What is you time horizon?
- What is your risk tolerance?
Based off those questions, you can start to be comfortable in the companies you buy.
